Contemporary handweaving based on unbroken traditions
Naturally colored cotton, natural dyes, sashiko-ori (woven sashiko designs), kasuri (Japanese ikat), and other design elements move in and out or across the cloth adding a temporal element and a sense of movement as wave designs are caught in the net of weaving. By working with levels of scale and echoes of structure and color, patterns are layered to create a harmonious cloth.
